VIRUSfighter is a security tool that fights virures. It scans your computer constantly to keep it protected from outside threats. The application sits in your system tray and it remains there unless a new threat is detected. Windows Vista and 7 are supported, and so are operating systems with multiple accounts.
In addition to the constant scanning of your system, this antivirus tool also has a quick scan feature. Most applications like this have such a feature. And you should always use it. This scan checks your system's files and the memory to find viruses. It will list all the threats that have been found after a successful scan. The developers say that VIRUSfighter can effectively delete most computer viruses that are circulating the net. And they state that the virus database is updated several times a day. If that doesn't work, there is always the quarantine feature, which puts files into a sort of safe zone, where can't do any harm.
You can change the level of security under the settings, but there isn't much that you can change about the behavior of the application. You can only disable real-time scanner and automatic updates, or both. But you can't specify what type of warnings you will get or the type of files that you want to filter.
VIRUSfighter is sold as a yearly subscription. It costs $39 per year per computer. So, after a year, you won't have virus definition updates anymore. |
